You see people who smile with beautifully aligned teeth and you possibly wonder how you can have a smile like that. What you may not know is that the person may have had a similar problem to you, but they have been treated with Invisalign Sydney. Misaligned teeth or malocclusion, as it is known, can be caused by a variety of things. The most common one is inherited dental structure, but thumb sucking or drinking from a bottle teat for too long can also cause your teeth to grow out of alignment. Metal dental braces were the treatment of choice for a long time and they still work. Some of those people who were treated however have seen their teeth move slowly back to their misaligned positions. A different method of straightening teeth and retaining them in their new position was invented and developed in the late 1990s. This system works differently and also has a method of making sure that they stay in their new location.

Getting started

What you get at Spa Dental Sydney is a comprehensive service designed to give you the results that you want to achieve. It all starts with a consultation and a diagnosis. We will then discuss your condition and what you would like to eventually achieve. Any additional explanation you feel will be helpful only requires a question and we will happily give you as much detail as you would like. You are given time to make up your mind, it does not have to be on the day of your examination.

Your treatment plan

Once you have decided to proceed with the treatment our expertise, skill and an array of twenty-first century equipment create a treatment plan exclusively based on your needs and requirements. This will provide you with a description of your treatment, timeline and everything related to your personal treatment. Using the latest digitised equipment, X-rays and 3D scanners, we will produce a virtual image of what you can expect your smile to look like at the end of your Invisalign Sydney treatment. Digitisation allows us to communicate immediately with the laboratory and avoid having to take moulds of your teeth. Instead of dental braces this system uses a personally designed series of aligners. Each aligner is cut and shaped precisely so that they move your teeth exactly to the desired location in your mouth.

Using your trays

We will fit your first aligner and explain the procedure and we can monitor your treatment progress remotely. You will need to wear each one for a minimum of 22 hours per day. Each aligner needs to be worn for 2 to 3 weeks to perform its function properly before moving to the next in the series. You may remove your aligners to eat and to clean your teeth.

Finally

Depending on your condition the treatment can last from 6 months to 2 years, but at the end you can reveal your beautiful, confident smile to all and sundry. You will need to wear a retainer which looks like one of the aligners and its function is to hold your teeth in their new location.
