Let’s talk about dental veneers in Sydney CBD

If you have teeth that are discoloured, worn down, chipped, broken, misshapen, or have large gaps between them, you may be interested in choosing dental veneers in Sydney CBD. Veneers are a very thin replacement tooth surface. They are custom-made from porcelain to fit over your teeth. They will also match the colour of your own natural teeth. This thin layer of porcelain will be bonded to the front of your natural tooth to create the desired effect, i.e. changing their colour, shape, or size.

The process

Receiving veneers in Sydney CBD at Spa Dental would usually require three trips to the dentist – firstly a consultation, secondly a tooth preparation appointment, and thirdly your veneer fitting.

Appointment one

During this appointment we will discuss the results that you hope to achieve and examine your teeth to make sure veneers are right for you. At this point we will fully explain how dental veneers work and what is involved in the procedure. We may also take x-rays or impressions of your teeth.

Appointment two

Your tooth will need to be properly prepared for receiving a veneer. This includes removing some tooth enamel from the surface of your existing natural tooth, this is roughly the amount that will be reapplied with the veneer itself. Of course, before this happens, you and your dentist can decide whether or not you will need a local anaesthetic. Next, we will make an impression of your tooth. This is what will be sent to our dental laboratory, it has all the exact measurements needed to create your veneer. If needs be, we can apply a temporary dental veneer whilst your permanent veneer is being prepared.

Appointment three

This is your fitting appointment. We will prepare your tooth to take the veneer by cleaning, polishing, and etching it to allow for a secure bond between the veneer and your natural tooth with colour-matched cement. Once the veneer is in place, a special light is used to harden the cement. Lastly, your bite will be examined and any excess cement will be carefully removed.

If you look after your veneers in Sydney CBD, you can expect them to last for 10 years or more.
