Invisalign in Sydney CBD – a user’s guide
At Spa Dental Sydney CBD, we offer Invisalign in Sydney CBD as one of our teeth straightening options. We give every patient all the information that they need when they have their smile realigned with us.
The guidelines are unique when it comes to Invisalign in Sydney CBD as you have more control over your equipment. If you do not follow the instructions provided by a member of our team, it can affect the effectiveness of your procedure. Here are a few of the things you need to be aware of when using Invisalign:
- You need to wear each aligner for upwards of 22 hours per day – teeth straightening methods work by applying consistent pressure to the surface of a tooth in order to send a message to the body that it needs to shift. If the pressure is not consistent, nothing will happen. As you need to take your Invisalign aligner out to eat and to clean your teeth, these activities will take up a large portion of the two hours you have spare each day. It’s best to get used to keeping your aligner in at all other times unless you really need to have a moment or two without it;
- You need to wear each aligner for one or two weeks at a time – occasionally, you will be advised by a member of the team at Spa Dental Sydney CBD to wear an aligner for slightly longer but the general rule is one week to a fortnight, depending on which Invisalign system you are using. Mark your changeover days on a calendar – don’t rely on yourself to remember!
- You need to clean your teeth after you eat – you do not wear your aligner when you are eating. You also do not want to get food trapped behind it when you reinsert it. This means that you need to brush your teeth before you do so. If you do not, you risk damaging your teeth, discolouring your aligner and compromising the freshness of your breath. Get used to carrying a toothbrush and toothpaste with you. It’s also advisable to cut down on snacking between meals as this means extra brushing, which isn’t always great for your teeth.
