What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is similar to the idea of invisible braces Sydney that you may have dreamed about, only it does not consist of fixed metal braces. Instead, Invisalign uses plastic aligners that are worn over the teeth and sit along the gumline, like streamlined gumshields. They are virtually invisible because the plastic is transparent so, when they are being worn, only your teeth should be seen by other people. Each week, you will need to change to a new aligner and we will give you enough to last for 6 weeks, after which time you will just need to see us for a checkup and to receive your next 6 weeks’ worth of aligners.

We can also use this scan to generate a 3D animation of what your teeth will look like once treatment has been completed.

While this treatment may not be suited to everyone’s specific needs, if Invisalign is an option for you, then there are many reasons to say yes! Aside from the fact that the aligners are discreet and comfortable to wear being bespoke for your mouth, you may also remove them for up to 2 hours a day. This will allow you to continue eating and drinking as normal, without needing to adapt your diet in any way for this treatment. Furthermore, you can take them out when you want to play sports or go on a date – the choice is yours! Another benefit of being able to remove the aligners is the fact that you can continue to brush and floss as normal, allowing you to maintain your high oral hygiene standards.
