Discretion

As the name suggests, invisible braces Sydney are visually discreet. But there is some confusion, as they are not braces and are an aligner, which is made from clear plastic and slots over your teeth much like a sports guard.

They are discreet to wear in daily life and are discreet to put in and remove as and when required.

Removable

Yes, that’s right! This aligner is removable and many adult patients find this exceedingly beneficial in their daily lives.

It means that you will not have issues relating to food, you will not need to attend hygienist appointments to have your braces cleaned and you can take them out as and when you need to. Just be sure to keep them in for a minimum of 22 hours per day to ensure that they have time to move your teeth.

Accelerated treatment

Clear aligners also offer an accelerated treatment window.

This is because they are best suited for patients who have mild to moderate dental misalignments and therefore, do not require extensive movement of the teeth.

On average, a patient wearing Invisalign needs to do so for between 3 to 6 months which, when compared to 36 months for a metal brace worn in adulthood, is an excellent time comparison.

Comfortable

It is hard to say with certainty that Invisalign will be comfortable for you to wear, as it does need to move your teeth.

But it works on a different system to traditional braces and rather than moving your teeth via pulling or adjusting the brace, it uses smaller pushing motions with each aligner in the series.  And as the aligner is made from a thin plastic (which is smooth) it will not rub against your inner cheeks or your tongue in the same way that other orthodontic tools do.

The treatment is personalised to you which will equate to a more comfortable and easier experience overall. There is no fiddling with moulds but an intraoral scan which will take an image of your teeth and use it to make the required aligners.
