Avoid the need for braces in Sydney CBD with Myobrace®
When you’re raising a family, you often have to think about your child’s future and make plans to ensure they have the opportunity to experience the best in life. When it comes to your child’s oral health, Spa Dental Sydney CBD are here to help you with that goal. As with most dental treatments, prevention is better than cure and we’re here to tell you about a dental device that can prevent your child ever needing braces in Sydney CBD.
What is Myobrace®?
There are a number of different forms of Myobrace that we can talk to you about. Your child may go through a few different stages during their treatment process. It’s a system that aims to correct the issues that can lead to crooked teeth, and thus the need for braces in Sydney CBD, later in life.
These are the four stages in the Myobrace system each of which requires a slightly different approach:
- Habit correction
- Arch development
- Dental alignment
- Retention.
Who is Myobrace suitable for?
The Myobrace system can be used from the age of three years up to fifteen years. It is possible to predict problems from a very early age and it is best to intervene as soon as possible. Correcting habits such as poor tongue action, for example, is most beneficial before the age of seven years.
What will my child have to do?
In order for Myobrace to be effective, the supplied device needs to be worn overnight and for 1-2 hours each day during the dental alignment phase. They may also need to perform some corrective exercises twice daily.
It is still possible that your child will need to be fitted for braces in Sydney CBD at some stage, but they are likely to have a far shorter treatment time than they would have otherwise. Myobrace also helps to prevent the need for extractions as it makes space in the jaw for teeth to reach their full potential.
Myobrace is just one of the options that we can discuss with you for the benefit of your child’s future dental health and appearance. At Spa Dental Sydney CBD, we work in partnership with parents to support the smiles of the future.
