Want to know more about facial injectables? Our dentist answers your top 5 FAQs
When you think of going to your dental surgery, you will probably think of things like check-ups, scale and polish, fillings and perhaps even root canals.
While all these general dental practice procedures are the backbone of all dental surgeries, it is now commonplace to also undertake cosmetic dental procedures in your average dental practice. As dental teams have become trained in everything from Invisalign to fitting oral implants, more people are opting for these advanced treatments with their local practitioners alongside more well known dental procedures.
But, did you know that many dental surgeries are also able to offer patients non-surgical facial treatments?
When you come to Spa Dental, our dentist in Sydney can offer facial rejuvenation techniques alongside cosmetic dental procedures. As all of our dental practitioners are trained in working with facial muscles, we are proud to be able to provide our patients with injectable, aesthetic solutions for deep wrinkles, crows feet and smile lines. Apart from cutting your hair, we provide all of your cosmetic needs under one roof! Perfect!
Of course, many dental patients are fairly cautious about attending dental surgeries for cosmetic injectables. Here, our dentist in Sydney answers some of the most commonly asked questions about the injectable solutions we provide.
Why should I attend a dental surgery for facial aesthetics?
It may seem odd to come to our dentist in Sydney for aesthetic injections, but it really is no different from attending a spa (except, we can probably offer the same treatment at a cheaper price!)
Our team is professionally trained in the anatomy of the face as part of general dental training and will know where to inject the solutions to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. And, of course, as it is a fairly straight forward option, you can be in and out faster than you would be at a traditional clinic.
What type do you offer?
At Spa Dental, we are able to offer patients botulinum toxin type A injections.
Is the procedure any different from a cosmetic clinic?
Not really.
Our team will identify the areas of your face that will require the injections to reduce the appearance of the wrinkles. The injections will be swift and painless and should not take any longer than 10-15 minutes for the treatment to be completed.
Will it be uncomfortable?
In a word, no.
While you can request a numbing injection prior to the botulinum injections, the process should not cause any discomfort. Be aware that any discomfort you encounter may be due to the area that is being injected being more sensitive and having more nerve endings. In essence, the feeling should be no worse than a mild pinprick.
How long will the effects last?
This will depend on where you were injected and how deep your wrinkles were when you had the injections.
As a general rule, botulinum injections last anywhere between 3-6 months, with many patients noticing a return of the wrinkles around 4 months after the injections occurred.
